FORMER LOWELL ATHLETE AND ANNOUNCING LEGEND PASSES
Jerry Coleman, former Lowell and New York Yankees baseball star and long time San Diego Padres announcer passed away recently.  Mr. Coleman was also a veteran of World War II as a pilot in the Marines.  Check this link for more information about Jerry's life.

FORMER LOWELL BASEBALL STAR PICKED-UP BY CUBS
Former Lowell HS baseball standout, Charlie Cutler, was selected by the Chicago Cubs in the Rule 5 Major League Draft Dec. 11.  Cutler had been in the Pittsburgh Pirates farm system since 2011.  Check this link for information on Charlie switching organizations.

Bay Area Sports Stars (BASS), an organization headed by local high school sports historian Chris Rogers, catalogs historical information on high school sports athletes from around the San Francisco Bay Area.  Deceased BASS co-founder, John Spalding, provided the San Francisco Section and AAA with a majority of the alumni athlete details listed below.  Check out this link to the BASS website for even more history of our local high school sports heroes!
