COACHING EDUCATION
Check out this link for information on coaches education programs
offered by the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF). Here are
some answers to questions
regarding who must take the ASEP or NFHS course.
MANDATORY
CONCUSSION TRAINING FOR ALL COACHES
The State CIF has mandated Concussion Recognition and Care training
for ALL high school coaches in California. Certification can be
obtained by completing the
On-Line NFHS Certification Course
and must be updated every two years. Note, those individuals
approved to coach prior to January 1, 2013 will not have to complete the
course until their First Aid or CPR certification expires, the sooner of
the two.
FUNDAMENTALS OF COACHING COURSES:
On-Line ASEP Certification Course

NFHS Certification Course (recommended)
Note, all
non-first TIME PaID AND VOLUNTEER coaches MUST complete EITHER THE ASEP or NFHS
FUNDAMENTALS OF COACHING course to continue
coaching at the high school level in the AAA/CIF SF SECTION.

Bob Gamino offers Red Cross First Aid and CPR courses with two year
