EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

WASHINGTON HIGH SCHOOL (San Francisco) is looking for a Varsity Head Football coach and a Girls FS Volleyball coach for the Fall 2008-09 season, a Boys Varsity Basketball coach for the Winter 2008-09 season, and a Boys Tennis coach and a Boys Volleyball coach for the Spring 2008-09 season.  Application deadline for the Football coach is May 22 and for all other coaches is June 6.  Please contact Ericka Lovrin, Principal, at 415-750-8400 for more information.

Note, all non-first year paid coaches MUST complete an ASEP or NFHS course to continue coaching at the high school level in the AAA/CIF SF SECTION.  Beginning January 1, 2009, ALL COACHES (BOTH PAID AND VOLUNTEER) WILL BE REQUIRED TO POSSES ASEP OR NFHS CERTIFICATION.

COACHES INFORMATION AND UPDATES
 

SF SECTION CSADA AWARDS WINNERS
One current and one former SF Section Athletic Directors were honored at the recent California State Athletic Directors Association (CSADA) conference in San Jose.  Susan Saunders (pictured above), former AD at Washington HS, was presented with the Jim Echols Award; while Burton HS AD Tatiana Kanakis received the Norm MacKenzie Award.  Congratulations to both Susan and Tatiana on their much deserved recognition and their service and dedication to their schools' athletic programs and the San Francisco Section!

MIKE MENESES NAMED CIF MODEL COACH
Washington High School Wrestling coach Mike Meneses was honored by the CIF as one of thirteen winners of their annual Model Coach award.  Check out this link for the press release on all the winners.  Congratulations to Mike for his continued dedication to high school (and middle school) athletes in San Francisco!

BASKETBALL UNIFORM UPDATE
Reminder that home basketball uniforms beginning in 2007-08 MUST be white.  Gold, grey, etc. will NOT be allowed for varsity games.  Please check this link for other important information on uniform requirements.
