MIDDLE SCHOOL ATHLETIC YEAR COMES TO A CLOSE
Another exciting year of AAA Middle School interscholastic athletics wrapped up with the All-City Track finals held May 3.  Congratulations not only to all our athletes and teams who won titles, but also to all those who put on the uniform and competed.  Many may not have taken home a medal or trophy, but they still put forth an effort and hopefully learned some life lessons along with the joy of participating!  And a BIG thanks to all our wonderful coaches who dedicate many hours to teaching not only the skills of their sport, but also instilling values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and dedication to a common goal.  Your efforts are appreciated.  So finally to all--have a great summer, and we'll see you back again in the fall for more action in the gym and on the field!

PRESIDIO TOPS IN TRACK
The AAA Middle School Track championship meet was held May 3 at Kezar Stadium with Presidio taking the team title.  The Panthers finished with 357.5 points to edge out a tough Marina squad.  The Penguins amassed 341 points with Roosevelt a distant third at 232 points.  The victory brought Presidio their 10th straight title and sent long time coach Norman Ching off to retirement with the best present he could receive!

GIANNINI REPEATS AS VOLLEYBALL CHAMPS
The AAA Middle School Girls Volleyball final took place March 5 with Giannini downing Presidio 2-1 at Kezar Pavilion.  The Jaguars and Panthers split the first two sets with scores of 25-23.  In the deciding set, Giannini pulled away, winning 15-6 and earning the Sunset District school their 17th overall title.  Congratulations to both schools on a very exciting match and successful seasons!

JAMES LICK TAKES BOYS SOCCER TITLE
The AAA Middle School Boys Soccer championship match took place January 29 at Kezar with James Lick shutting out Everett 3-0.  The Bulldog victory earned the Noe Valley school their fifth overall title.  Congratulations also to the runner-up Owls for being the first lower division team to reach the finals.

CO-CHAMPS IN GIRLS SOCCER
The inaugural AAA Middle School Girls Soccer final held January 24 at Kezar Stadium ended in a draw!  Aptos and Presidio were tied 2-2 after 60 minutes of regulation.  An additional 20 minutes of overtime were played with neither team able to find the back of the net.  League Bylaws preclude the use of penalty kicks to decide the title, therefore the Tigers and Panthers were declared co-champions!  Congratulations to both squads on a very exciting and first ever Girls Soccer final!

TIGERS DOWN HAWKS IN BOYS BASKETBALL
The AAA Middle School Boys Basketball title game took place Dec. 11 with Aptos knocking off Hoover 45-39 at Kezar Pavilion.  The victory brought the Tigers their 12th overall league title.  Congratulations to both Aptos and Hoover on a very exciting final and successful seasons!

FONG YU NUMBER ONE IN GIRLS HOOPS
The AAA Middle School Girls Basketball championship was held Dec. 11 at Kezar Pavilion with Alice Fong Yu downing Presidio 38-24.  The victory earned the Red Dragons their fourth title in the past six years.  Congratulations to both schools on very successful seasons!

GIANNINI TAKES BASEBALL TITLE
Giannini downed Aptos 3-1 in the Middle School Baseball Final held Oct. 9 at West Sunset Field.  The victory completed an undefeated season for the Jaguars and brought the Sunset District school their 15th overall title.  Congratulations to both schools on a very exciting championship game!

PRESIDIO ON TOP IN SOFTBALL
The Middle School Softball final was held Oct. 5 with Presidio downing Aptos 12-0.  The Panther victory earned them a third straight title.  Congratulations to both Presidio and Aptos on very successful seasons!

CPR REGULATIONS
A notice to ALL Middle School coaches, CPR regulations have changed!  A child is now considered anyone 11 years of age or younger.  Since many middle school students are within this age range, ALL Middle School coaches MUST take both adult AND child CPR when renewing or obtaining certification for the first time.  Please take note of this when signing up for your next course.
